Equipment
- non stick pan
Ingredients
- 4 slices Colby Jack Cheese
- 4 slices American Cheese
- 8 slices Bread
- 2 teaspoons Mayo (or you can use butter)
- Deep-Fired Cheetos see notes
Instructions
- Warm the pan on the stove on medium heat (the lower heat will help melt the cheese while the bread won't get too browned).
- Assemble four of the bread slices and spread mayo onto each. Lay the bread, mayo side down on the hot pan.
- Add a slice of Colby jack cheese and a slice of American cheese to each bread slice.
- Wait until the cheese melts a little bit, then add the deep-fried Cheetos (you can add 1 or 2 to fill the bread.
- Top the sandwich with the second slice of bread, and spread the top with mayo. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bottom slice of bread is toasted. Then flip the sandwich and brown the other side.
- Serve with some marinara sauce on the side or tomato soup for dipping.
Notes
- We used homemade bread, and this was so fantastic! You can use any bread you prefer or have available.
- Try with our deep fried Cheetos Mozzarella sticks. You can use Cheetos or Doritos for this -- both add a very satisfying crunch to your grilled cheese sandwich!
