This is a yummy, creamy, cheesy appetizer, or great as part of our Grilled Cheese sandwiches!  They have a great multi-cheese and crunchy flavor!

This great cheesy-crunchy snack is delicious as an appetizer with marinara sauce, or in our Grilled Cheese sandwiches!

Equipment

  • Cast iron pot (or pot for deep frying)
  • cooking oil
  • Oil thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 package Whole Fresh Mozzarella
  • 1 bag Cheetos crushed
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Whole milk (could also add beer)

Instructions

  • Get 3 bowls ready: one for the eggs (slightly beaten with a Tablespoon of milk), the second will be for the flour. Add a little salt and pepper (to taste) to the flour bowl.
  • In the third bowl, add the crushed Cheetos.
  • Get your oil hot in the deep frying pan (Heat oil to 300°). You should have at least 3-4 inches deep of oil.
  • Cut the mozzarella into thin slices. Dip each first in the flour and shake off the excess. Then dip into the egg wash. Then roll the cheese in the crushed Cheetos and coat well.
  • Set aside and continue to do the rest of your slices.
  • When the oil is heated to 300° degrees, carefully add them in 2 or 3 at a time.
  • Cook until golden brown (or orange in this case with the Cheetos give off that color).
  • Serve with marinara sauce or alfredo for dipping.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • These were so good as is, or you could add some garlic powder, Creole spice or Badia complete seasoning to the flour mixture to add a different flavor. 
  • This is a fantastic dish to make for your next game night or to serve at a party with friends!
