4slicesAmerican Cheese
8slicesBread
2teaspoonsMayo(or you can use butter)
Deep-Fired Cheetossee notes
Instructions
Warm the pan on the stove on medium heat (the lower heat will help melt the cheese while the bread won't get too browned).
Assemble four of the bread slices and spread mayo onto each. Lay the bread, mayo side down on the hot pan.
Add a slice of Colby jack cheese and a slice of American cheese to each bread slice.
Wait until the cheese melts a little bit, then add the deep-fried Cheetos (you can add 1 or 2 to fill the bread.
Top the sandwich with the second slice of bread, and spread the top with mayo. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bottom slice of bread is toasted. Then flip the sandwich and brown the other side.
Serve with some marinara sauce on the side or tomato soup for dipping.
Notes
We used homemade bread, and this was so fantastic! You can use any bread you prefer or have available.
Try with our deep fried Cheetos Mozzarella sticks. You can use Cheetos or Doritos for this -- both add a very satisfying crunch to your grilled cheese sandwich!
