If made during fresh raspberry season, this liqueur will be perfectly timed to give as gifts or enjoyed for the holidays. This is delicious sipped on its own or used for raspberry cocktails. From The Kitchen of: Corinne

Ingredients

  • 2 Quarts Raspberries
  • 2 Cups White sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 750 ml Vodka one fifth

Instructions

  • Wash berries and place into a wide-mouth gallon jar.
  • In a sauce pan, heat sugar and water to boiling until sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the simple sugar syrup over berries in the jar.
  • Add Vodka, gently stir together.
  • Put the lid on the jar and place in large brown paper bag. Store in a cool dry area.
  • Age for 5 to 6 months, gently shaking the jar about once a week.
  • Using a strainer and/or cheesecloth, drain off berries.

Notes

  • If desired, the leftover berries can be used to infuse a white fruity wine.
  • Shelf life for this will be similar to other liqueurs.
  • Try this recipe with other fresh fruits!
