This homemade poppyseed filling is so easy to make and great to add to a dessert or a bread of your choice it has so much flavor, and so simple with only 2 ingredients.

This is so simple to make and better than store bought. Try it for your cookies, sweet rolls and buns and other pastries -- so good!

Equipment

  • Coffee grinder or food processor

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup Poppy seeds (dry)
  • 1 1/3 cup Sweetened condensed milk (add a little bit more if you think its dry, or you can add cocounut milk if you want to make it less thick)

Instructions

  • Process the dry poppy seeds either in a food processor or a coffee grinder, make sure to get it into a powder. This will take about 1 minute.
  • Heat up the condensed milk to a thinner consistency, but don't overheat. You can either heat it in a small saucepan or in short increments in the microwave.
  • Add the poppy seeds into the milk and stir for about 10 minutes. After its been cooked allow to cool to thicken up.

Notes

  • You can use sweetened condensed coconut milk if you prefer for a slightly different flavor.
