This is so simple to make and better than store bought. Try it for your cookies, sweet rolls and buns and other pastries -- so good!
Equipment
Coffee grinder or food processor
Ingredients
1 1/3cupPoppy seeds (dry)
1 1/3cupSweetened condensed milk(add a little bit more if you think its dry, or you can add cocounut milk if you want to make it less thick)
Instructions
Process the dry poppy seeds either in a food processor or a coffee grinder, make sure to get it into a powder. This will take about 1 minute.
Heat up the condensed milk to a thinner consistency, but don't overheat. You can either heat it in a small saucepan or in short increments in the microwave.
Add the poppy seeds into the milk and stir for about 10 minutes. After its been cooked allow to cool to thicken up.
Notes
You can use sweetened condensed coconut milk if you prefer for a slightly different flavor.
