Cheesy Rice (Instant Pot)

Easy side dish to make if your not feeling like doing a lot of cooking or cooking for picky kids its easy to make and a great dish to pair with chicken, turkey, beef etc.
Equipment
- 1 instant pot 6 quart
Ingredients
- 4 cups long grain white rice
- 4 cups chicken broth or chicken bullion
- 2 tablespoons of ranch seasoning
- 1 tablespoons of garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
- Add these after the rice is cooked
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter or 1 stick cut into pieces
- 1.5 cup milk
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese or colby jack cheese
Instructions
- First, wash your 4 cups of rice in cool water and strain the water. Make sure it is washed at least 3 to 4 times or until the water runs clear.
- Mix the chicken bouillon into the water mixture and stir to combine.
- Then add the rice, water, chicken stock, seasoning garlic, salt, and pepper to the instant pot.
- Stir everything together and combine well.
- Press the rice setting on the Instant Pot, seal it, and allow it to cook. Each Instant Pot takes a different time to follow your instructions on your machine.
- After the final beeps letting you know its fully cooked. Allow 10 minutes to slow release, if there is any pressure left do a manual reelase.
- Then add the sliced up butter, 1.5 cup of milk and shredded cheese. Mix well and place the lid back on to the keep warm setting for 3 minutes
- Then It's ready to serve.
Notes
I love to use the instant pot to make rice because it's very easy to use. It taste great and ties very well with chicken or a bigger main dish.
