This is such an easy side dish to make for any evening meal, and it goes so well with any main dish! And you can adjust the taste according to your preference with the seasonings or type of cheese you use, or even add-ins!

This is a basic super quick side dish that can be jazzed up with anything you like. Try it with a few frozen veggies or broccoli, or spice it up with seasonings or a little salsa! Or even stir in some leftover meat and make it a main dish!
Equipment
- instant pot 6 quart
Ingredients
- 4 cups Long grain white rice or whatever rice you prefer
- 4 cups Chicken broth or stock
- 2 Tablespoons Ranch seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Add these after the rice is cooked
- 8 Tablespoons Unsalted butter or 1 stick cut into pieces
- 1.5 cup Milk
- 3 cups Shredded cheddar cheese or your preferred cheese
Instructions
- First, rinse your 4 cups of rice in a strainer under cool water. Make sure it is washed at least 3 to 4 times or until the water runs clear.
- Then add the rice, chicken stock, ranch seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper to the instant pot.
- Stir everything together to combine.
- Press the rice setting on the Instant Pot, seal it, and allow it to cook. Each Instant Pot takes a different time so follow the instructions on your machine.
- After the final beeps letting you know its fully cooked, allow 10 minutes to slow release, if there is any pressure left do a manual release.
- Then add the cubed butter, 1.5 cup of milk and shredded cheese. Mix well and place the lid back on to the keep warm setting for 3 minutes.
- Then It's ready to serve.
Notes
- I love to use the instant pot to make rice because it's very easy to use. It taste great and ties very well with chicken or a bigger main dish.
