Old Fashioned Stuffing

Equipment
- 3-4 muffin tins 12 cup size
Ingredients
- 8 cups dried bread cubed
- 2 3/4 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup unsalted butter 1 stick
- 1 large apple shredded
- 1 pound mild Italian Sausage
- 1 large sweet onion finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup celery diced (about 3 stalks)
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1 teaspoon Rosemary Salt
- 3 sprigs fresh thyme leaves finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F.
- Prep the apple, onion, garlic, and celery. Add the vegetable mixture to a bowl. Set aside
- In the large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until no longer pink.
- Melt the butter. Add the vegetables and seasoning. Saute for 5 - 10 minutes until softened.
- Add the bread cubes. Toss to combine with vegetables.
- Slowly Add the broth as you are stirring until the bread is softened to your liking.
Notes
We found that using our everyday bread turned out really great along with adding apples and using a muffin tin worked perfectly!
