This Pizza Sauce is great for pizzas (obviously!),
but can also be used on pasta or as a dip for bread sticks or whatever.  Its so easy to make and very economical. And we like it better than the store-bought. Its great on our French Bread or our Quick and Easy Pizza.

This recipe makes a pizza sauce that's much better than store bought, and is very economical. And if it makes more than you need, you can freeze the leftover for next time!

Equipment

  • Immersion blender or blender

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 ounces Tomato paste
  • 15 ounces Diced fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Red wine
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon White balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Badia Complete Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the oil. Sauté the garlic for 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • Add the red wine and cook for 3-4 minutes to reduce the alcohol.
  • Add the remaining ingredients. Using the immersion blender, blend until smooth. If using a blender, combine all ingredients in the blender and process until smooth, and add to pot.
  • Over low heat, cover the sauce and let simmer for 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Allow to cool before storing in refrigerator.
