Equipment
- 1 (9-inch) cast iron
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen diced potatoes thawed
- ¼ cup cooked chopped bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 green onion chopped
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 bacon package
- 2 Tbsp Badia Seasoning
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350ºF.
- In a bowl, whisk everything together eggs, whole milk, garlic powder, and sour cream, all the meat and vegetables as well. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture into the cast iron. Make sure to add bacon grease at the bottom of the 9 inch cast iron to make it non-stick.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until a toothpick to see if it’s fully cooked into the middle of the quiche comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
Notes
We found that 3 eggs was not enough it looked too dry we used a total of 6 eggs. The premade pie crust was not enough to fill the cast iron we have to use 1 and 1/2 probably had too big of a pan and a lot of quiche filling as well. Maybe break into 2 pie or a bigger baking dish.
A lot of this is a choice if you want more meat or less meat or more vegetables or less that’s up to you.
