I wanted to share this memory with you all. This is a recipe that has been in my family for years and we've always loved it! From the kitchen of Cindy Ross.

Equipment

  • 9 x 13 oven-safe dish
  • Saucepan

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks Salted Butter 1.5 cups
  • 2/3 cup Evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips
  • 1 jar Marshmallow creme 7 ounce small jar

Instructions

  • Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish or or spray with nonstick spray.
  • Combine sugar, butter, and milk in a pan.
  • Bring to a full rolling boil.
  • Boil 5 min, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat add chocolate chips, vanilla and marshmallow creme. Stir until well blended. Pour into greased pan.
  • Let set until cooled and firm.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • In place of the chocolate chips you could add Peanut Butter, Nutella, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch for a change of flavor.
  • Our favorite was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Spread because it tasted exactly like cereal!
  • Make sure to use fresh salted butter not frozen butter it can make it taste off.
  • Its crazy to me that the recipes we've always used from the sides of cans and boxes are constantly changing so they don't taste the same as they used to. So we try to keep a copy of those original recipes that we really like and use a lot.
