  • Stir together pizza dough according to package instructions. Roll out the dough (or use your own homemade dough) and form it into a circle.
  • Spread Alfredo sauce onto the circle of dough. Add your choice of chopped ingredients: chicken, mozzarella cheese, etc. onto one half of the dough.
  • Then flip over the other half onto the filled section to make a half-moon shape.
  • Crimp the edges together with a fork to make sure its sealed.
  • Cut 3 to 4 small slits on top to allow air to escape while cooking.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes at 475F.
  • When finished baking, brush with the garlic parmesan basil butter.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • We have tried this recipe many different ways and its delicious every time. Whatever sauce or ingredients you use always makes a good calzone. Its like a pizza -- anything and everything is good on it!
  • You can try this with a traditional red pizza sauce and other fillings such as cooked Italian sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, pepperoni --the list is endless!
  • This would also be great with the Alfredo sauce and scrambled eggs and cheese as a breakfast calzone!
