Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • hand mixer

Ingredients

  • 8 oz block cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter 1 stick, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 Cup Powdered sugar
  • Pinch Salt if desired

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add butter to cream cheese and continue to mix until smooth.
  • Add vanilla, sugar and salt if desired and mix until smooth.

Notes

  • You can omit the salt if you want, but we think it helps enhance the cream cheese flavor and helps balance the sweetness of the frosting.
