These Rice Krispie treats are so easy to make at home and are great for parties like Halloween, Christmas, or any occasion. You can make them your own by adding vanilla or chocolate drizzle on top or sprinkles. Or make it more festive for the season or holiday.

Try these super easy Rice Krispie treats for any holiday or party. And make them your own by topping with sprinkles, icing, drizzle or whatever. Or add mini chocolate chips or a bit of peanut butter for a flavor switch.
Equipment
- 9 x 13 baking dish
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Salted butter 1 stick
- 6 cups Miniature marshmallows
- 5 cups Crispy rice cereal
- Optional food dye to get darker color add 8 to 12 drops (use little black dye if need be only 1 drop) change as you desire
- Optional 1 teaspoon of hazlenut extract (if you want you could substatute for vanilla if you want)
Instructions
- Prepare a 9x13 baking dish by spraying; or butter the dish..
- First melt the salted butter in a large pot. We browned the butter a bit for a slightly deeper flavor; this takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
- When the butter is done, add in the all mini marshmallows, (this is where I added in the hazelnut extract and the food dye. You can skip if you are not using these.
- Once the marshmallows have all melted mixed together, cook on medium-low heat for 2 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and add in the 5 cups of Rice Krispie's. Mix well.
- Then firmly press into the 9x13 baking dish and allow to cool.
- After 15 minutes has passed its ready to be cut.
