Best Bourbon Butter Syrup

This syrup is delicious on any dessert - pancakes, waffles, bread pudding or whatever!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Bourbon
  • 3/4 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 Stick unsalted butter 1/2 cup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup Heavy whipping cream room temperature or slightly warmed

Instructions

  • Add the stick of unsalted butter to a medium saucepan and melt fully until smooth.
  • Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the butter is dark golden color. This will brown the butter.
  • Remove the pan from the heat. Slowly drizzle in the whipping cream (make sure it is room temperature or warmer so it doesn't curdle).
  • Then add the maple syrup, the bourbon, and finally the vanilla extract.
  • Cook it down at a low temperature; this will take about 8 minutes on low to medium heat. This will cook off the alcohol.
  • Then it's ready to serve!
