Amazing Turkey Gravy

This gravy made from the leftover turkey bones makes for a truly great Thanksgiving leftover dish. Serve this with leftover turkey over noodles, rice or potatoes for a meal even better than the original!

Equipment

  • Large saucepan

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Turkey stock
  • ½ cup Dry white wine
  • 1 cup Yellow onion. diced about ½ an onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Marmite
  • 1 teaspoon Rosemary salt or kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter 1 stick
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 Tablespoons butter. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and continue to cook for 1 more minute or until fragrant.
  • Add the remaining 6 Tablespoons butter and flour. Cook the roux for 2 minutes or until the raw flour smell dissipates.
  • Slowly add the wine and stock. Bring the gravy to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the marmite and seasoning. Continue to cook the gravy until thickened. Keep warm until ready to serve.
