Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F.
Spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or you can use a butter stick.
To Make Gravy: In a medium size bowl add the 3 cans of soup, milk, water, and mix well – set aside for now. We will go to the patties.
Hamburger Steak Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, crumple the saltines, milk, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Form 8 to 10 large patties, making them all equal sizes.
Next, lightly coat in flour the patties and fry in a skillet with high sides on medium-high heat until brown on both sides. This will take about 3 minutes each side the smell of flour will be gone.
The inside will still be uncooked. Do not smash the burgers.
Place patties in the baking dish. If making more than 6 patties, get another cooking dish.
Pour gravy evenly over patties, where it slightly covers the patties.
Bake covered with foil
Cook for 1 and 1/2 hours or until the steak patties are well done, reaching a safe internal minimum temperature of 160F.
If they are still not 160F, cook for 20 more minutes.
Eat alone or serve with sides.
Notes
You can use saltines or ritz crackers either or will work.
The burgers can be added to any side; mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, french fries, tatter tots, rice, egg noodles, pasta, favorite veggies, salad. If you are reheating it make sure to add more milk so it doesn’t burn.
