Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F.
Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or you can use a butter stick.
For Gravy: In a medium size bowl add the 3 cans of soup, milk, water, and mix well – set aside for now.
Hamburger Steak Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, saltines, milk, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Form 8 to 10 large patties, making them all equal sizes. Lightly dredge the patties in the flour.
Spray a skillet with non-stick cooking spray , then brown patties on both sides until lightly browned, about 3 minutes each side. The inside will still be uncooked. Do not smash the burgers.
Place patties in the baking dish. Pour gravy evenly over patties, where it slightly covers the patties. Cover dish with foil.
Bake at 350F for at least 1 and 1/2 hours, or until the steak patties are well done, reaching a safe internal minimum temperature of 160F. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Either saltine or Ritz crackers work well.
These burgers can be served with any side; mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, french fries, tatter tots, rice, egg noodles, pasta, favorite veggies, salad. To reheat leftovers, you may need to add more milk so it doesn’t burn.
